Kunta Kinteh Island (James Island)

Kunta Kinteh island is in the middle of the river Gambia where they kept slaves during the triangle slave trading. The famous slave kunta kinteh was kept in prison here. This island is 5 miles away from the harbour. It is a day trip. The most interesting part of it, is when you are crossing with the ferry.
